Help! Air cell’s too small but duckling’s still Alive trying to pip!

Pics
I'm guessing this would work here, but, you could try putting it into a thin waterproof bag and then dunk that into the ice water, not sure if it would be that accurate, but its an idea.
I'm not sure how else you can calibrate the temp.
For humidity, I believe you use salt to test them

The duckling has internally pipped! Tapping away now at the outer nit. The other egg doesn’t show any changes - it’s definitely still alive though! Should I increase the humidity now?

Go ahead and bring the humidity up to 65% if it's under that still, don't let it fall below 60%, but also try to keep it from going up to 70, I say this with the other duckling in mind.
Congrats on the internal pip!! Let's hope for an external pip soon!

Congrats on the internal pip! Looking good.
My thoughts on the second egg is that it may be a few days behind. The veining still looks great though, so you might be at this for a few more days! :D
Thank you! I hope it doesn’t take longer than the 25th because I certainly don’t want to be up all hours of the night helping them hatch when my exams start, if everything went to plan I was thinking 22nd latest but clearly these ducklings have another plan lol

they're on their own schedule! Lol. Hopefully they wont keep you waiting too much longer!!

exciting news!! Let us know once she starts to zip!!
I will! At the moment it’s been about 9 hours without any progress, hopefully there should be soon though! (With call ducklings I think you wait 6-12 hours before you assist? Or so I read although last time I waited 24 hours) The duckling in the other egg appears to be getting bigger and taking up more of the egg so it definitely seems to have been delayed - I didn’t rotate the egg though, is that alright?

thats fine don't worry, the risk of not turning is strongest in the first 2 weeks, after that point it will more than likely be fine. So I wouldnt worry at all about the second egg, as long as it continues to grow and the air cell drops!

I'm not an expert on call ducks, I would have to suggest @WVduckchick for that question!
Though I would have guessed that waiting longer is best. If waiting 9-12 hours is the rule for calls, I would have thought that goes for after the zip has started- since they still need lots of time to absorb after the external pip. But again, I'm not sure on that note.

Oh ok that’s good! The air cell hasn’t dropped yet, it was dropping a little before but now it’s stopped possibly because of the slight increase in humidity. I’ll keep an eye out for any signs of zipping, if there isn’t anything then I’ll probably have to assist at 24 hours but in 18 hours I think I’ll remove a tiny bit of the external pip just so I can see inside and make sure the duckling won’t wind up blocking its hole when turning and wind up suffocating.
