Help!! Are my ducks shrink wrapped??

wow, I totally want to do ravenry now. Thanks for telling me about it lol!

Aw those pictures are adorable thanks for sharing!

That's interesting that it helps, do you know why it helps?
No clue xD I think maybe it makes the others shame it or something and it goes quiet idk.

That would be very interesting to find out why that works. That's cool that you've found that it works though. Have the duck eggs hatched yet?
Nope he's making progress. Bob whites take a long time to mature. Are you planning on eating them or releasing them or..?

I release and sell em so I usually just buy chicks. Food wise coturnix are awesome they're good to eat at 10 weeks and lay at 5 weeks. Taste like duck eggs but theyre just small

That's good that he's making progress, keep us updated on how it goes!

I can't eat my animals haha, I get way too attached. We're actually adopting a tame bonded pair of bobwhites and a tame mated pair of blue scale quail just to keep as pets in our aviary. One of the bobwhites is apparently super cuddly, so I'm excited about that. Once I get a license for owning game birds I'd like to raise and release birds too though, just not these.

I've seen pictures of blue scales they're pretty birds! I'm going to attempt to tame some buttons for pets maybe to sell or give away

Snowflake bobwhites are some of the prettiest birds they're next on my list haha
The reason I buy chicks is because they take a year until they lay eggs and only around 200 at that.. Plus there's the whole pairing off, keeping coveys is fine but breeding season hits gotta separate em. It's too much trouble imo

If they're atleast a year old that's awesome! Hard to find adult birds around here for me

Buttons are adorable! Someday I'd like to own a few.

The female bobwhite in the pair I'm getting is a snowflake bobwhite named cloud, she's beautiful.

Yeah, bobwhites do take a while to mature, but for me since I just want them as pets and someday for breeding I'm alright with that. I think blue scaled are also slow to mature. All the ones I'm getting are just turning a year old. I'm glad I'm just getting two pairs of each lol, it'll be much easier in breeding season. Kinda random but my little brothers planning on keeping one of the baby bobwhites that the pair has and naming it "Bob Ross" haha.

Have the eggs hatched yet?? (sorry I'm just really curious and excited, I've never met someone hatching wood ducks).

No not yet I'm debating on. If I need to intervene or not yet.. I reckon I'll give them til the morning maybe how long can they last after being shrink wrapped?

I think they can last 48 hours in the shell from what I've heard. Its morning now, have they hatched? If not you may need to intervene. I'll send some instructions on how to help shrink wrapped ducklings and chicks hatch.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/guide-to-assisted-hatching-for-all-poultry.72886/

this article is good for helping shrink wrapped eggs. Read it carefully and follow all the instructions, and if you have any questions I can try to answer them.

(edit) you don't need to read the preface unless you want to. But at this point I suggest skipping it and helping the egg or eggs because it's been over 48 hours. (unless I did my math wrong).
Awesome appreciate it haha!

So he's finnaly out woke up to a duck this morning :) have three more that have pipped so looks like things are back on track haha!
