Good advice, thank you!Since it's bleeding, that means it's not ready to hatch. In the future, if this happens, you can open the shell over the air cell, just over the air cell, and then put some coconut oil or neosporin on the membrane. If the chick is ready or almost ready, you will see no blood or veins in the membrane. Never pull or rip the membrane until you see there are no more veins.
Most of the time you don't have to touch the membrane at all. If you take the shell over the air cell off and keep the membrane moist, when the chick is ready, it will push itself out of the shell without needing any help.
