So I've poured over all of BYC's forum categories looking for the right place to even ask my question. I've ended up here hoping one of you gurus can help me out.

I sell garments on Etsy. Aprons also. And I know how much chicken owners would love an apron to keep their clothes clean while socializing with, or nursing their chicks. I was thinking about offering some of my unique apron designs on my Etsy shop, and was also hoping for a way to let everyone who interacts with me on BYC know that my products are available and actually created for them!

So obviously- Buy Sell Trade didn't seem right because the actual transactions are taking place there. I want to be able to tell you guys a little about my chicken aprons and actually point people to several of those cute designs!

Are there any big no-no's about directing people to my product that I should know about? I couldn't find an appropriate category to even do this in.
I've considered I could put a link to my shop in my signature- but I would have multiple chicken related products there that people would never see unless they knew the were in my shop and knew how to search them out. (over 200 products on there)

Any rules pertaining to this that I missed in BYC rules?
Thanks in advance for the help

I've already been there. And it doesn't seem to be the place for me. Going back I see I would be forced to use Paypal or some alternate method of receiving payment... which stinks, considering I want all of my orders in one place.

Rule
9. All items or services for sale must actually be available for sale on BYC only. No advertising of listings of items offered on other websites are allowed.

Great discussion. A few points of clarification:
  1. Over the 10+ years we've been running BYC we've needed to develop strict rules regarding advertising / promotion. Our main philosophy is "What would the community / user experience look like if we didn't have these rules?"... (the answer: it's not pretty) ;)
  2. Individual item sales can be placed (with limits) in our Buy Sell Trade section.
  3. Promoting a business / website / product (outside of BYC) is limited to:
    A) User's signature (for Premium Feather Members)
    B) Official BYC Sponsors / Advertisers (see "Advertise" link)
