Help! My duck has leg issues!

Hi everyone. Little update. Haven’t found much that works well on his foot. I am in the middle of building something and today I opened their cage went inside to fill their water came back and in the 3 minutes I was inside the other duck ran away. I’ve been searching everywhere for about 30 minutes and can’t find him anywhere. I live on a 120 acre farm so he could be anywhere. He was never able to fly more than 15 to 20 feet before falling back down so I’m lost as to where he could be. Does anyone know if he will come back on his own?

Female duck? What about treats take some treats out and start whistling or calling maybe you already use a word or phrase to get them to come to you? Sometimes treats will get them to come when nothing else will.

Okay. we do think it’s a female she was never able to fully “fly” but I did see her once so far and she was flying pretty darn well. She never took many treats it was always the other who would eat them she never would. She has always been skiddish and jumpy. I was riding my quad around the farm and she came flying out of some bushes and took off. I saw where she went but we’ve been searching the woods here for awhile to no avail. I think she would survive just fine but I’m worried about the other duck as he is now alone. We are going to leave food and water right outside of their cage hoping she comes home

Mallards can fly well,Rouens look like Mallards but are about same size as a Pekin. I hope she comes home:fl
Okay. Yeah definitely a mallard then because she’s about half the size of our pekin. When I bought them the guy said neither could fly so I wasn’t too worried. I have seen her once so far she flew away from me farther into the woods. Probably about a half mile or less from my house. I’m going to leave food and water outside and keep the top off of the coop so that hopefully she flies by and can hear crackers calling to her.

@CrystaBub that’s what we are hoping for. She wasn’t back this morning yet. My girlfriend isn’t taking it very well she just got over the pekin and was happy we don’t have to put him down. The poor pekin hasn’t moved from where he was when she ran away.
