Absolutely right. Very smart to look ahead and research now when there is no emergency....being prepared....I too have done phone investigations, calling vets near me.
Some will not have anything to do with anything chicken related and some "dog" vets will test their poop.
A phone call is free.

I can get pictures of it after awhile. As of right now I am leaving her be so in hopes that she will eat some eggs without us bothering her.
She smells like death. Going to soak her later, check out her wounds and make sure there's no infections occurring. I think it's just the discharge though that smells so rank.
Yes, I believe it is the discharge that smells pretty foul.Have a bad smell is not a good sign. Where exactly is the discharge coming from? The vent?
