Thank you! So I'll give the baby chicks 0.5 teaspoons in their Quart waterer (changed daily) and the 14 week old pullets will get 2 teaspoons in their gallon waterer and the 18 week old Cockerels will get 2 teaspoons in their gallon waterer as well. Everyone getting a fresh mixture daily. Also taking little chicks off of medicated starter. Just wanted to type out to make sure I am understanding correctly. Thank you so very much! I'll switch everyones dosage to 0.006% on Saturday.

So all of my chickens have been on the "severe outbreak" dosage of Corid and I was planning on reducing the dosage today to the maintenance/prevention dose. Well, I just realized that I haven't been doing it correctly in my gallon Waterers. Apparently, the gallon line is approximately a quart less than what I've been filling them. So my "big birds" (19 weekers & 14 weekers) have been getting 2 teaspoons of Corid in a gallon + an extra Quart of water. You'd think one would know how to fill a waterer, but leave it to me to screw up something so simple :he Would you advise me to retreat with correct dosage? Continue with 0.5 teaspoons in the correct measurement of a gallon for 7 more days? I haven't noticed any cocci symptoms in my "big birds" but I was just treating them at the same time I treated the baby chicks that are indoors in their brooder. I need to note that I am indoors and outdoors and back and forth between all of my birds, without changing clothes, shoes, handwashing, etc. My baby chicks weren't diagnosed, but we decided to treat as a precaution based on multiple droppings with intestinal lining, on multiple days. Again, thank you all so much for your time and advice. I feel so incredibly blessed to be part of BYC!

I know that I have given the strong dosage for too long but the days just got away from me.

I think the big bird's got enough and since they aren't showing any symptoms I don't think I would worry or start over.

How are the little one's poops looking now?

Luckily, I did get the littles dosage correct since they're using a quart waterer. Unfortunately, I can't measure the small amount needed for the lower dosage for a Quart of water (would be 0.5 teaspoons divided by 4=0.125), so I'm changing them to a gallon (0.5 teaspoons per gallon). So far, they're doing really well. I've not seen any other symptoms and their droppings have been normal, at least all that I see. I do plan on coming in before first light in the morning to check droppings, just for reassurance. I can't thank you enough for all the help you have given

Just want to point out that you were not giving them an overly-strong dose, but a slightly diluted dose, since you were adding too much water to the mixture. I'm very glad that your birds are doing better!

Nope, never mind, pay no attention to me.
You're absolutely right for the severe outbreak dosage :D I really appreciate you taking the time to help either way. I ended up using a gallon waterer for all 3 flocks, for this low dosage. The past 2 days the Littles have been getting closer to empty on the Quart anyway, so it all worked out. Half teaspoon for all 3 now :p

Okay, let me try again. You need 1.5 tsp. of medication for a gallon of water. So you need to divide that by four to determine how much goes into a quart jar.

1.5 tsp. ÷ 4 = 0.375 tsp.

0.375 converted into fractions is (DH tells me, lol) 3/8. So a quart of water needs 3/8 of a teaspoon of medication. Fortunately, I have a 1/8 tsp. measuring spoon in case I ever need to prepare this.
