HELP!!! TURKEY HEN PROLAPSED??

Pics
I didn't suggest it because I was trying to figure out what the cause was, but yes, if it's just a prolapse, that could help.

@danielley101215, is this the same hen that you just had tested for Mycoplasma?
It actually is yes. The hen that’s been having that cough. She was pooping quite normal up until a couple days ago and I just never looked until yesterday when I found the prolapse and fluid and her straining

Since you have access to the labs there in Tulare or is it Turlock (can't remember), can you contact them and ask if you could bring by a stool sample for parasite testing and a gram stain? I fear that maybe your hen does have a respiratory infection that has spread to be reproductive tract. I know that vets are expensive, and good ones are hard to find, but I think your hen really should be seen by a vet, and not just a test at the lab, I think this hen needs to make a trip to your closest vet that will look at her. otherwise, I fear prognosis is poor. :(

Yes, I did not list honey or sugar syrup mixed with sugar and a little water as being good. Usually I mention honey first, and both of those can help reduce swelling by osmosis, as well as keep the prolapse tissue moist. We usually mention a lot of products because many do not have one or the other. It really doesn’t matter what you use, some may be batter than others, but the point is to keep the prolapse from drying and dying. That is a big problem, especially when the prolpase is not discovered right away. Once the tissue becomes black, it dies, and it then may require debriding or scrubbing off the dead tissue.

All right, my turn. Your Honor, I didn't suggest sugar because when I first researched this I wasn't all that impressed with the record, meaning not enough people were reporting success. Do you have first hand experience Shannon? :idunnoI never used it... I know it's a good antibacterial (but only after the blood has clotted on wounds), but I needed a powerful anti inflammatory too...

Yes, I have successfully used sugar to reduce prolapse swelling so the prolapse goes back in and stays there. I tried honey too, which is great because of the antimicrobial properties, but it is hard to coat onto the prolapsed tissue and tends to be VERY sticky. I had an issue with the honey picking up dirt and such when I tried that. Sometimes it takes a few tries, but it does work. However, as Casportpony pointed out, fixing the prolapse itself might mean little if the underlying cause isn't addressed as well.

The closest vet that will look at her is about 45 min away and I cannot get her there today.. my mom is traveling today to pick up family. We can’t do vet till tomorrow if we need.. a place 45 min away said they would possibly see a turkey and she could come in as an emergency but I can’t get her there today it’s killing me :hit

My vet is over an hour away, so I understand you frustration. :hugs call them and ask if there is anything you can do between now and tomorrow to keep her comfortable.
