I need advice fast please. I'm very limited on time. (MY QUESTION IS:) What do I do about nails sticking through my coop ceiling. Some people wouldn't worry about it but I am because I'm afraid my chickens might hit their head on the nails on the ceiling. Any advice? Should I cut the nails and if so, how far, will it make my shingles easy to come off if so. I don't have time to go to the store. I have hardware cloth I could use to cover it. But wanted something easier and less time consuming. Please help. Thank you. GOD bless. ❤

How high is the ceiling, and how high is the roost? If the roost is too close to the ceiling, there is a chance they could get hurt, but otherwise there shouldn’t be a problem.

x3 PetesChicks. I have some nails sticking through here and there but my ceiling is 8 1/2' up and none of the roosts are close so I left those alone. For nails that are sticking out of the wall, I got a metal cutting dremel bit and just cut them back as much as I could.

Another thing, if they are where the have a good chance of hitting the nails. If you don’t have a dremel tool, you can just bend them over with a hammer. It will make it almost impossible to pull them out later without straightening them out, though, so only do it if really needed.
