Then once she hears them Peeping internally she panics and opens the shell before they are ready. Next time she will understand more...

With my female if she opened the shell she then attacked the duckling the only other egg the duckling was trying to hatch and died before it could. I guess she opened the egg not sure on that. I wasn't there. She was first to go broody next year and I was prepared to take all the ducklings that hatched she had 8 eggs she hatched those ducklings an was the best mama you could ask for. I was so relieved.

You never know what goes on in their minds during this time. I am just thankful she has been my only female to do this.
