hen to roo ratio

I want to order some chicks from a hatchery, I could go with a straight run, but I just called and it is possible to get all roo's, I don't want that. So my question is what is the hen to roo ratio, because if needed I will order certain chickens that equal out the number I need for an order.

Yep...1 rooster to 8 to 10 hens...

You might get a surprise roo w/ a pullet order. The sexing is only about 98%. I ordered 16 pullets and ended up w/ 15 pullets & a surprise SLW roo.

I don't know why, but I thought the hen to roo ratio was more hen....like 14 to 1?????

I just might think that b/c my poor pullets are chased all day long.

i've read 8 to 1 but I have also read that some roosters will be faithful to just 1 hen. i think it also depends on the breed of rooster.
