Hello everyone, we have 4 laying hens and 4 pullets who are yet to start laying in mid September. Our layers are a year and a half and all of a sudden, for no reason at all, decided to quit laying. Do you think it had something to do with us blocking off where they normally lay, under the BBQ and making the nest boxes look more inviting? When we stopped getting eggs from all but one hen who lays in the nest box and was unaffected, we unblocked under the BBQ but still have no eggs. These guys are, I think, what you call super layers, so have they come to the end of laying properly, or are they just taking a break? And it is not because it is getting colder because we are on the last month of winter and soon it will start getting warmer. Answers will be appreciated!
