HERE WE GO AGAIN Anyone SETTING Aug 30th - Sept 8th join me!!

Yes. Much harder. At day 7 or 10 you will see a dark blob moving if you have a really powerful light

I will be looking forward to it!!!

Ok, so after feeling all excited about my first 10 eggs looking pretty good, I decided to see how the others looked last night and um...not so good, lol. Most of them are darker eggs so I'm hoping that was partly why I couldn't see much, but it definitely wasn't the high hit rate I had with the first 10. Oh well at least I know some are growing in there, and it's early yet so maybe they will look better on day 7...

OK guys - I've put one of the red plugs (they're red on the Little Giant) back into the vent holes - I was kind of experimenting and took both plugs out - and WAH LAH!!! Temp has stabilised. Yay!!!!!

I'm still going to make my own incubator for next time round (well, maybe the next time, because now I REALLY want some Wheaten Americaunas and none of mine look fertile and I don't think I can wait long enough to make a new Bator) ..

.... LOL

I am thinking that I want to build one too. I have mentioned it to my husband already. I find myself looking at everything wondering if I can use it to build an incubator, lol. I have been watching the free stuff on craigslist too for a cooler or a small cabinet, lol.

Day 10 you will see 3/4 of the egg will be dark on the brown eggs then you will knowa baby is there I only rarely see anything but darkness in mine. In like 7 hatches i think i saw veins twice

I tossed two of mine, looked like they were early deaths, so three left out of 6. One looks a day ahead in development so I'm wondering if I should lock down earlier for that one?
So crazy to see those little wigglers in there!

What is everyones's opinion or ideas about hatching during the winter?
I ask because my husband says no more after these but I still will want a few more plus I figure if I hatch now, well assume the next batch comes out mid to late Nov. then those I want to keep will be growing and the others will be some 4+ months old and then I can sell them off for a little more come spring because they will be a little older and you will be able to tell what they look like and or sex.

Or is this just the addiction talking

It takes less than a day if you put your mind to it. The first one I made took a few days because of my laziness. The second one I made only took a few hours.
