I agree with @DobieLover on rehoming Conchita instead, Henny sounds like a very good rooster, and Conchita may very well be the opposite eventually.
Just a thought!

Thank you for weighing in... that's what we've decided to do. It's hard to part with him - such a rare breed and so sweet. As you say though, you never know how it would go later. If you know anyone looking for a beautiful White-faced Black Spanish... needing a new home ASAP as things are escalating.

Also wanted to update everyone reading this thread (I can't figure out how to make another edit to my original lengthy post) - We took Conchita to a wonderful new home yesterday where the folks plan to get another Spanish and raise little "Conchita's."

Oh thank you so much! I made one edit to this original thread/post, but when I went to put another update I couldn't find the "edit" option again? Perhaps you're limited to how many changes the system lets you make? Still trying to figure it all out.

Yes as a standard member you can only edit for a short period of time. If you purchas a PFM you can edit for 6 months I believe.

Hi Again. Thanks so much for the info on the tool to blunt our rooster's spurs. I've just ordered it now since we've been putting it off. We can't really get him from the roost at night since it's not a walk-in roost and he sleeps with gals around him. I think we're going to have to catch him during the day and work on his spurs. Do you use the same tool for trimming his pointy nails or something different? We may also have to put a saddle on one or two hens that have bigger and bigger bald spots on their backs. How long do you generally leave those on? Many many thanks.
