Another newbie here I live in Washington state. I have my first flock of (hopefully) 7 hens that were hatched around mid April. (Funny enough, I took the dive into raising chickens cause I was experiencing some empty nest syndrome) They're all still freeloaders. One Jersey Giant, three production reds, and three New Hampshire reds. Then a friend of mine had a whole bunch of chicks hatch, so to help her out I picked out four from her that are a wynandotte barn yard mix. They were hatched early July. Once again, hoping all hens . I'm a school bus driver, about ten years now. I knit, I'm a dog foster mom, and I garden. Now, who wasn't to help me sex these chicks ?
