Yep, I do read directions but there are none in this Black and Decker Rice Cooker box! Help! I just want to cook rice!

there is a removable pan---non stick and then what do I do.....where does the water go?

While you're on line, email the company and let em know - I'm sure they will send you the little booklet. You don't want to miss out on the warnings on that thing, like:
Do not use rice cooker in the shower.

Etc.

Take a bowl, put in rice, rinse rice just once. Don't need water to run clear. Put into non stick bowl, add desired water. Put in rice cooker, close lid, push go.

Not sure what the plastic half pot is for. Washing/measuring/steaming?

They say not to wash rice in the non stick bowl as sand and rocks can scratch it.

Edit:

Is it this?:

It has a link for PDF on that page.

I would google Black & Decker and the model number (should say on the box) and directions, I bet you can find them online.

For white rice do 1 part rice to 2 parts water. For brown rice we use 1 part rice to 2.5 parts water. The rest is just like silkie says, put in the rinsed rice and water, cover, plug it in and push it to "cook". I love my rice cooker!
