How old was your rooster...

My last roo was a Black Langshan and he didn't start to crow until 7 months old. He had me so confused.

Wanna hear confused...
I have a silkie that I have had all this time since January thinking it was a pullet as she had no comb, then about a few weeks ago out of no where she popped a comb. Ok so she is a he...nope the following week she squatted for me and then another week goes by and she's laying eggs! :th Looking at her you'd say roo, yes? Here's a pic!

Also this Cochin hen from week two had a huge bright red comb, then around the same time frame as the silkie she squatted and has given me a couple dozen eggs! These two have had me sooo baffled! View attachment 1466874

My silkie is similarly confusing. I have crowing and no eggs right now, so it's a boy, for now. I had been convinced it was a girl prior to the crowing. Its behavior is just so confusing. 95% of the time, the bantam Cochin cockerel he lives with treats him like a hen, but I've never seen any mating, though I have seen chasing. He squats for us. He likes to sit in nests. And he crows, which I've never known a hen to do unless there was no rooster around and we have several. 98% sure it's a boy, but I will not be the slightest bit surprised if I find eggs in there someday (he would be the only girl in the run, if indeed he's a girl instead.)
