Hunting Rant ---Mods Kill The Thread---

There are good hunters and bad hunters no matter where you go.
A few years ago DH and I took to carrying a rifle with us everywhere we went. Had permission from our game warden to put down any wounded animal we saw. Then to call them and let them know where the animal was because they were chasing poachers.
We put down 3 deer that year.
On the good side the meat could be salvaged and they were processed and donated to the food bank. The meat that could not be processed went to the predator rehab center.
So it worked out.

You always have to watch out for the crazy hunters. I always walk to my stands to extra orange on and a headlight when it is dark. i also make sure I walk as wide as possilbe from known tree stands on adjacent property just in case and not to spook any deer by them. I had a hunter shooting a 100 yards from me and he wasn't wearing orange thsi season, I only knew he was there when his black powder muzzleloader went off

I was able to drop both of my deer this year with my 12 gauge. I was very happy not to have to track it and the deer did not suffer very long.
