Hurricane Ophelia - Ireland

My phone is charging,
So is the landline.
No trees can damage my house if they fall but they could fall on the chicken runs :/
Some of them are hundreds of years old.

I think I heard somewhere the highest gust so far received today was 156 km/h (96 mp/h)

They are saying there is still worse to come and high chances of a 'sting jet'
With winds of around 100 km/h.
'A significant risk to life': Storm Ophelia could have a 'sting jet' with winds of 100km/h

Thankfully the village I'm in is on an elevated, hilly area, so there is not much risk of flooding, but this wind is scary. I've secured everything outside as best I could. The hens are in the shed, which is a proper brick and concrete building (safe and secure). All we can do now is wait it out.

@ChickenGrass I read some updates now re the power outages. Some parts have been restored in Cork city, they are working on others. Hoping ours will stay on :fl

It's an uncomfortable feeling, sitting here listening to the wind and reading the warnings online and waiting and worrying. Not really knowing what's going to happen in the next few hours… Not really knowing what to do either, but wait. It feels a bit surreal!
