I'm in East Texas and am curious what others have done for their flock during hurricane weather. There's not one approaching (although I think most of us would welcome the rain right now), but I'd like to have a game plan. Do the chickens fend for themselves? I'd like to think I could close them in the coop, but what if the wind knocked the coop in? Would they fly away and return home?

I don't really have a plan. I will just make sure that everyone is as safe and secure as they can be. Feed and water will still be available for them to eat. I will however lock them in their coops and then pray.
