i got bit by a mouse!!!

Was this a wild mouse or a pet?
If it was a wild one was it cornered/provoked or did it just jump at you?

But yes, bleeding is good, helps clean it out. If it gets swollen, soak it in warm epsom salts or if you don't have any dump a handful of table salt in about a quart of very warm water and soak it till the water gets cold. Then apply som antibiotic ointment and bandage loosely. If it looks like it's getting infected, GO TO THE DOCTOR!

Puncture wounds, especially animals bites can get seriously infected.

On a brighter note, I have been bitten many times by rodents. DON'T THOSE LITTLE BUGGERS HAVE BIG TEETH FOR THEIR SIZE AND BOY, DOES IT HURT!!!

* Yep-- Hydrogen peroxide it til it stops foaming. . Use cotton swabs. But it'll still hurt like the very dickens a couple days. . . You up to date on your tetanus shots??? MOST adults aren't nowadays. . . .

Yikes.....never been bit by a wild rodent before (but lots of tame ones). I always squeeze them and MAKE it bleed even more until I almost need a transfusion.

I would definitely get it seen. Someone mentioned tetanus shot. If you aren't up to date I know they will at least want to do that.

Be wary of sudden cravings for cheese.

I'm not sure what the likelihood of getting rabies from a mouse is. Did the mouse look healthy? Did you catch it? If you caught it, take it to your doctor and see what they think.

Call the doctor tommorrow. If I was bit I'd go on antibiotics immediately.
I had to deal with wild mice a lot. The unfortunate truth is most carry nasty
infections. Chances are your body will fight them off but just be safe and call
the doctor. This is one of the few things I'd suggest antibiotics as a preventative
measure for.

ya it was in my feed bin so i think it was just scared and it bit me.

we just read a book in english class where the guy got rabis..
So i am a bit freaked out.

im updated on tetnus, i think....

stupid thing bit me and wouldnt let go. i was shaking it and shaking it and finally i flung it into the cement and then my chickens ate it. haha
