Justice? Ummm, sorry, no, not in my view.
It is not wrong for a coon or fox or whatever to kill a chicken. It is the nature of a coon or fox, or a person, for that matter. It is also not wrong for the person to kill the coon or fox.
But there is no justice involved. It is just the balance of nature. Living things eat other living things. It is not about revenge. It is about food.
You are right to an extent, and I do understand your comment about food. That is why I understand why a mama fox would kill to feed her babies. But I don't agree with you that that is what it is all about. It isn't completely about food when they kill so many hens and just leave them lay. It really is a
sport. Kind of like when my cat catches a mouse. Believe me, it has absolutely nothing to do with food...
I do agree with you mostly on the balance of nature, and it sort of makes me laugh how balanced it is. With all the fence in the world, predators still figure out ways around. With traps and guns, predators still figure out how not to get caught and shot.
But the justice comment I made was a bit tongue-in-cheek. That is why I put that neat little popcorn smiley thing on there. But thank you. I will be more careful to present my comments in a straightforward manner.
And to the mad duck mama, I am so sorry. I really do understand your frustration and loss. Sure hope those in the garage are healing up well.
Good luck with whatever route you choose!
