When ya all say "Gamey" I have no idea what you mean. The backstraps
looked good enough to eat raw. I'm an avid Sushi/Sashimi lover, is that
gamey? I can't say I've ever eaten any animal from the sea or land I
didn't like. People have said quail are gamey but they are the best bird
I've ever tasted. I don't like fat and always cut around it. The lean aspect
of deer seems apealing to me.

My wife just can't bring herself to eat Bambi. I've been harassing her
about it but she is get VERY ANGRY at me. She can eat a steak practically
raw so it makes no sense to me. She can't eat a silkie either.

Do you like lamb? To me it is has that gamey taste, at least the one lamb entree that I tasted and quickly sent away.

Deer, when cooked correctly, isn't bad. I have a hard time eating it though, but it's a mental thing (like what your wife is dealing with.)

Lamb has no correlation to gamey. Lamb is lamb. I raise sheep and processed a lamb ram a few weeks back. Lamb is in no way 'gamey'. It is a taste most beef eaters are not accustomed to. The taste of lamb is nearly the same scent as they carry. It is the lanolin and fat in their body. Not wild gamey adrenaline/testosterone tasting.

Wild game - like deer, elk, moose, bear - is gamey - wild - excercised well - meat.

i don't mind the gamey taste of deer! now squirrel that is another storey and that is because it is tough to me!

I agree with you PC, I never add the fat to the burger at the processing plant. Deer meat is one of the healthiest meats you can get around here! NO GREASE on the deer, NO Grease on ME!!!!

I just add some water to help keep the burger from sticking to the pan when frying up for like nachos or hamburger helper or chili or vegetable soup, etc...

It was rack of lamb and I tried it while on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and I only tried it because my waiter said if I didn't like it he would bring me something else. Maybe it's an acquired taste, maybe what I tried wasn't prepared properly, whatever the reason it didn't agree with my then 39 year old taste buds AT ALL.
