Thank you very much for this. My other duck seems to be far better but the one I've had in quarantine. She started having really severe seizures and flopping all over the place and which was very scary! She appeared to be very woozy and then continued to have seizures which lasted several minutes. I don't know what to do now, she's getting worse from what everything looks like!

It does sound like poison to me. I have treated botulism in chickens, it starts off like a drunken-ness, then it is full body paralysis. Unless they ate maggots, or had access to anaerobic decomposting organic matter, that is unlikely. You don't have to buy activated charcoal, you can make your own by burning clean wood, yes charcoal will absorb toxins and is natural.

It has to be diet related, so if you are sure they are getting a well balanced feed or mix, then it could have been a something accidental ingested. You can do an autopsy and examine the intestinal tract in the future. As long as you are sure their diet is well rounded and nutritiously balanced feed, if not try adding another food type.

But to me the likely culprit is cocci. Check out this thread.

Unfortunately you would have to have a script from a doc in the united states for those meds.

If coccidiosis, fortunately you don't have to get a prescription to treat as the treatment is amprolium or Corid found at feed stores.
I'm also a little confused as your first statement was pointing to possible poisoning and your last pointed to coccidiosis?

She never behaved in a drunken manner before this.

I am a little confused about the post above as well myself, but I've never heard of these medicines before. I only have tractor supply in my area and to get other things I have to go to the city which is often a 3 hour drive for something very specific outside of my area. I don't know if this is possible, but can these medicines be bought online or do you have to get it in person?

Well, my duck, she didn't have any symptoms, no drunkenness like symptoms before this, the drunkenness happens after her seizures. She behaves just fine minus the eating and drinking where she refuses everything. Then it's just sudden convulsion out of the blue then wobbly afterwards if not on her back. Literally no warning given! Today has been very hectic concerning her. Tomorrow, unfortunately I may have to put her down if she continues to be doing this. I was really hoping it wouldn't have gotten to this point but now my stepmom and my dad are telling me she's going to have to go at the rate this is going.

All of my other ducks are completely fine. Turns out that the other duck I believed to be sick only just simply strained or pulled a muscle and is completely fine other than this and is nearly fully recovered from it.

Could it really be diet if it is only affecting one individual? Supposed it can be.

Have you supplemented with niacin and vitamin e? Some ducks just need more than what feeds offer. It takes weeks to rectify issues. But, if you haven't supplemented with niacin, I'd start her on a regimen of liquid super b complex and vitamin e. It could be botulism and that part of the post above makes some sense. It's a long haul when it comes to care and getting over botulism, but many have done it. Corid can be found at tsc or online. I'm not thinking its coccidiosis though.
I would seek out a vet if you can.

I was asking whether you think their diet is well rounded and nutricious, and if not then to supplement it with a different feed type or vitamins as @crazymaizie points out. Do they get to eat grass, plants, and corn based feeds? I didn't want to make any assumption about the diet to rule it out, that's why i ask.

So assuming the diet is good, that leaves toxin (including botulism) or cocci. Do any of your other animals on your farm get sick? If it were cocci you would find other chickens or animals have also gotten sick as it is in the soil, water, etc. Cocci is everywhere, but it's also treatable with medicine.

I have read that plants like tomato plants (like in your photo) are poisonous to ducks and cause symotoms like you have. Ducks like to eat everything, and if there is a toxic plant they injested, it would come up if you do an autopsy on a dead one. I would encourage you not to put your duck down. If she did eat a toxic plant, you can help her and she may get through it.

I would forget botulism, it causes full nervous system paralysis and death by suffocation because the animal can not hold its head up. Unless your duck is displaying symptoms of paralysis. Botulism can be survived if fed for a few days, but it is not botulism.

@Xetreverse Exotics How is your duck doing?
She's still alive,
@Xetreverse Exotics How is your duck doing?

in quarantine, but I don't see much of any improvement except for catching her eating for once but hardly anything at all, most of the time she just stands or sits there, shivering and her feet feel quite cold, she still preens herself as well. Still occasionally has seizures and goes around in circles with head arching back. Somehow earlier she escaped her quarantine area and went into the pond, had a seizure while in the water, and I had to get her out of there and back inside. Every day now, she's been having seizures, sometimes multiple times throughout the day and I don't know what to do about this. I've been trying my best to follow everyone's advice! (。•́︿•̀。)
