I only talk chicken at work with another co-worker that has chickens. I show the pics because we are all women and who doesn't love a fluffy butt pic!

I have the unfortunate problem of being a snake person, a rat person, a mouse person.....I love all living things. I do have to feed my snakes and I generally feed rats to my balls (pythons that is, that sounded bad) and mice to my King snake. However, if I have a chick that doesn't survive hatching it goes to my snakes. It isn't something I talk about much, and I have never bought chicks to feed them, but I guess I might if the circumstances we right. What I would NEVER do, however, is brag to anyone about what I feed my snakes. Feeding them is an uncomfortable thing for me anyway, even though I buy them already frozen. I usually only talk about snake food to other snake people. I believe she was just being hateful and I am sorry she did that.
Anyone feeding live ANYTHING is making a big mistake. Almost all snakes can be trained to eat frozen thawed. I know there are exceptions, however. I would never dream of putting a live animal in with my snakes. This is for the safety of my snake AND because I could never be responsible for doing that to a living creature.

Oh, and just for the record, we had this ancient old mouse named Snowflake. He belonged to my 7 y/o. The little thing had literally turned grey (where he was black before) and looked and acted like a little old man. He died a couple of weeks ago. I held his tiny body and stroked his fur and cried like a baby. He is now in the freezer awaiting his funeral pyre. Thankfully, not all snake lovers are nasty like your co-worker.

I have a ball python. And I will feed him my chicks that need to be culled.

I don't get many, but if I get one that has a bad leg or something to that nature......well, Anakin gets chicken for dinner. He likes it and I don't have to be the one to cull.

I really don't mind people having whatever kind of pet they want to. It was inconderate to tell a chicken lover and future breeder that she feeds her snake chicks.

Then again, her mouth is what keeps her from being promoted.

I say if she wants to feed her snake a chick,,,its her business. Its no different then feeding it a mouse,,,still a animal. I like chickens too but cant control what other people do. I say get over it.
