It looks like chopped scratch...I wouldn't feed that as a balanced diet! They need all flock, flock raiser, or starter grower, unless the feed store can provide you with an ingredients list that states otherwise
The chick starter we usually buy in the USA looks like the pictures in this article:i forgot To add that we got chick starter from them before but I don’t remember what it looked like.
If you can get better chick starter from your friend, I would use that instead.Should I just not give this food at all or can it be mixed with big chicken food. can I still give it to the chicks?
Make contact with the number listed on the bag and ask them for the guaranteed analysis/ingredients list.. Or do they have a website.. I'm not getting any return on my searches.. but that could be because of my location somehow filtering it out.Should I just not give this food at all or can it be mixed with big chicken food. can I still give it to the chicks?
Find out what it is and the guaranteed analysis. Then IF it is a better choice, perhaps you can get it from the same place she does??My freind is bring me some food she gIves her baby chicks on Monday.
Yeah. I know the breeder and he would not sell me unhealthy chicks. I will try and contact them. what could have causes malnourishment. The fact that your Silkies were stunted.. may not have been the food since they didn't suffer any wry neck or other symptoms/conditions that would be *more* indicative of malnourishment.. and we are all jumping on board with the breeder assessment as to why. And I agree it's a possibility but it isn't adding up completely.
