I Will Stop Candling I Will Stop Candling

I have a confession to make. . . . I was jealous of fairytales candling, so I went and disturbed my broody to get a first look at her eggs! 5 out of 6 show good development. 1 looks clear. She didn't mind to much, just a small growl

too funny! I never stopped candling! I candled practically daily! Thank goodness I have another batch to candle because lockdown was giving me withdrawals!

i read this to my hubby, who's more "chicken tolerant" than some I think... part of his response wasn't repeatable LOL

he tries to pretend indifference to the incubating & such, but was very interested when i was compiling my little video last night. LOL

Yes, my hubby is very tolerant of whatever I choose to do but will moan and groan at times. Funny though how he manages to be out with me at feeding time everyday and talking to the chickens!

Yes, funny isn't it? Making jokes about BBQ'd duck when he's out grilling dinner, but then runs over to change their kiddie pool water because, "They like it better when it's really clean."

Y'all are making me itchy. I must have another tray of 48 to candle by now:-D I sold all but two of the chicks in the garage today, and about 6 adult chickens. Buying a flock of production reds tomorrow for eating eggs. Almost sacrilegious , isn't it?

I'm already thinking I need another set to go with an order being shipped this week. Though I already have my sights set on a particular auction!

Lockdown on my one batch today made me sad to not be able to candle them.

Good thing I have a batch not in lockdown!

Ok, you guys forced me to go out and candle eggs. I threw out two, the rest of the tray look good. I had to recheck the auction eggs that went to my old Florida address by mistake, and some are actually developing! Miracles do happen!

Hey, I have a question actually.. I am new to candling (yes, and already addicted) and I was just wondering..
I have a couple eggs that I can see movement, heartbeat, veins, etc.

But there's this one egg that when I candle, MAN! The little booger is doing backflips in there! I swear it's like rolling in circles or something. So, is this everyone's experience? Some are more active than others?

Yep, I have ONE out of 33 that every time i candled he was like a chick gone wild! I say he because I fully expect a crazy Roo from that one!
