If it looks like mold I would do a major clean of your incubator once you are done hatching this batch. Use a bleach solution and try to get all possible surfaces.

I will absolutely be doing that. Idk if it was actually mould or partially developed chick gunk. I have no idea what I’m looking at truthfully. If it looks like mold I would do a major clean of your incubator once you are done hatching this batch. My hubby just came in and said our neighbors had 6 raccoons in their front lawn and they were hand feeding themThey will be back so maybe you can set a trap?

I cannot wait for the day I can afford a place in the country!idiots.
I’ll have a look! I’ve seen some of his videos but I haven’t seen this one.I was looking into incubating, and found a really great series on Youtube by "slightlyrednecked". He uses a water method at the beginning to see if the eggs are possible to incubate, I highly suggest checking it out to see at least that part of the video. See the link below:
How to Improve Your Hatch Rate Part 2: Preparing Eggs for Incubation
It's a pretty awesome video (and series), and it's supposed to help eliminate incubating some of the 'duds' that won't ever hatch whether you do everything right or not. It's done before you even put the eggs in the incubator, so it might help you figure out if it's something you're doing or a problem with the eggs.
Hope this helps!

Luck!Ok! I’ve got a dozen of my eggs, and 3 doz eggs that were replaced by that neighbor. She showed me all the tiny chicks that were hatched using eggs from the same birds around the same time, so most of them should have been and will be fertile.
Wish me luck!![]()
