She’s out! One of her feet appears to have curled toes. Hopefully that will correct itself by the time she gets fluffy? Is that a thing? If not I’ll make a shoe if she pulls through. She’s very tired.

Sounds like you have a great plan. There's a YouTube video by Rush Lane Poultry that was really helpful to me for creating a DIY incubator, you might want to check it out.Well friends, one chick hatched, 2 died in shells. They were in the same condition as the one I helped but had been unable to externally pip. The rest are a range of partially developed-never developed.
I had to leave for work so I decided I’d put safety holes in anything that I had deemed viable at lockdown just in case there were any more struggling.
What I learned:
Everyone is awesome and helpful!
My temps must be ok because the ones that developed were essentially ready Day 17.
I have a sticky chick problem, from what I’ve gathered it can either be a humidity issue (not enough) or an air exchange issue (too much ventilation)
I may have a fertility issue
I may have a bacteria issue.
So I already picked up a plastic cooler to move my components to. I’m going to dip my eggs and be extra vigilant about keeping everything clean. I’m also going to keep a journal as was suggested to keep track of settings and things that may effect hatch. I’m going to do more research on where/how many vent holes are needed. And I’m going to set up an egg turner so I don’t need to handle the eggs as much. This time I’m also going to put my heat source above the eggs as I read somewhere that works better than having it below them as it is now.
Just trying to stay positive and hatch out a game plan![]()
Yes just the one. I hope she makes it till I get home. She wasn’t very active by the time I had to leave for work.So just the little one? Awe
