Your right. Unless one of us is a billionaire we aren't going to effect politics, so the best we can do is exchange ideas on ways to live through it.

The counter economics concept is contrary to this belief. The beast needs resources. Counter economics, sucessfully employed (this means NOT telling people who would turn you in) would eventually mean death by a million cuts to the beast, to quote Tom Woods in his last chapter of "Rollback".​

The government is compared a lot to the biblical Leviathan, thanks to Hobbes. I'll make another comparison - Leviathan cannot be killed through force of arms, but nothing says it can't be starved!

I'm sure they have there but you could buy it through lewrockwell.com's Amazon link and support the only guy willing to stand up to the Koch's and rejuvinate Mises. (Charles Koch threatened to ruin him if he went ahead with starting the Mises Institute)

Reason I ask is that I have a ton of Barnes & Noble gift cards from Christmas that I really need to use.

I figure a Tom Woods book would definitely be worth it.

What are we to believe? We hear the economy is improving and then 1900 employees laid off. According to Bloomberg today, gold was $1,459.60 and silver $39.55. Put the two together and how can things be improving? At least the people on this board can be a source of inspiration and help to each other. We will get through this.

A customer who owns a bar and grill just called and had me add $1 to every single menu item. She just had those printed and now needs new ones because food prices are going nuts and she can't absorb the price increases anymore.

Well Lets see I had hubby pick up some cooking things for baking, whole milk, powder sugar, cho. chips
add 1 pair of shoe laces, and cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, head of lettace, 4 tomatoes,
It was suppose to be a Birthday cake for my Grandson and taco dip to share at the party.? so what do you think I got?
a Bill for about 45.00, 1 bag half full of grocery items and 2 pair of shoe laces. Pretty friggen rediculous. Gas here in Wis. is 3.89 a gallon Kim
