I tell you guys some thing we all know .
we all know and we have seen or heard about some hens goes dominant and start to crow ,if there is no rooster around . why ,because her sex chromosome has one Z [ male chromosome ] and one w [ female chromosome ]
But we never seen or heard about any rooster goes broody . why ,because both of his sex chromosome are Z .male chromosome .

so the hen has more power to fix the male and the female line .both those line has to start with a good female not a good male like every think .

when we talk chooks ,the Mama Hen roles . she is a Queen . there is no King in the chooks world , just the rooster thin they are ,that all .

The Rooster crow BUT the hen is the one who lay eggs . he can crow as much as he can .

My hubby and his dad have always said a good hen is worth her weight in gold. That is why my husband may let a gamecock or two go here and there from his lines, but never ever the hens. Not one.

A beautiful and correct topline with nice tails would be a glorious thing to see in my 2019 grow outs. Hoping for a good year.

you have all ready did the step . rising 2 son s from her . both have a good top line and a good tail .just high .
next back crossing you ll see half off the cockerel will look exactly line Queen .in all the area . Queen s body type in a cockerel form .

the body colour will be they weakest area in the first few generation . but I ll no worry too much about it .you are breeding the breeders . the foundation line .

Yeah color can come later when I get the body type and tails fixed. I'm hoping to see decent color from Duke's sons. Duke's brothers that Harvey is working with are incredibly colored. Harvey has done great work with them.

Now I remember why I stopped posting in the facebook group of The Marans Club. Because they are way too snooty and negative. Was hoping the new club wouldn't be that way, but it is. I posted a picture of Princess on the group and a comment I got from one lady on there says "Raining on your parade but that tail looks pinched to me."


That may be so, but Princess is worth working with regardless I think.

those peoples have no clue about the marans .they call them American marans ,that what I was told when I said they are far away from the original marans breed .

they are the one responsible for the square tail. open Fan tail etc.........

it is a reason I stopped going to any other thread . no body know what they are talking about when come to marans chooks .
