Unfortunately I do not have a hen. Just one seriously beautiful Rooster.
We call him Pretty Boy Floyd.
I notice a few of you have critiqued others chickens.
I would love to hear what you think of Floyd. Please FORGIVE the back n tail feathers missing,a stray dog Tried to take on Floyd.
Floyd Won!
He is 13months old,and a "French Copper Maran" that's the breed name we were giving from hatchery.

his body type is good but not his colors .
his hackle is too light ( golden at the bottom end )
his comb is too big and has too many point
his tail is too long and has a parasitic white

you are breeding BCM from him so don t to worry .his is a good looking marans roo. love his gorgeous eyes and the way he stand

thank you for sharing your photos with us .

my favorite BCM cockerel of this year hatchling.
still waiting for his tail . a lot of my cockerels have a missing tails .
any way .
this one is a son of Zambezi over Shakera .
10 /10 body color .that all what I was hoping for .
short on his feet sort of body type .great asset to correct the tall strain .

his weakness is his comb double point like his father and his back is a little shorter .

Beautiful BCM!! I love your silver cuckoo marans in the background. I have been looking for some silver cuckoo marans hatching eggs, but they are not easy to find here.

He's a pretty cockerel. He has a very proud stance. I agree with chooksman. To much gold in the hackle. I like his name:)

thanks littlepeep81.
the silver cuckoos are hard to find any where .
I bred mine my self from just 1 pure silver cuckoo rooster imported from the UK as fertile egg . he had all sort of fault and problem but he was pure silver and come from dark egg layer strain .
no I m in the 3 rd generation . working on the forth one this breeding season .plus I m breeding a pure dark silver cuckoo .
here some photos of my favorite

Hi everyone, hope all is well. I am posting some pictures of Magpie. It seems she has developed some copper feathers on the wing, and in the saddle area. Sadly I know this will probably render her as a layer only pullet:( Is this common in a pullet? Anyone else ever experience this with their BCM females? Both sides have a small copper spot on each wing. I was excited about her development, but now feeling bummed. However I did purchase some wheaten marans hatching eggs so I am excited to see how they turn out.

I agree with Chooksman, Magpie is looking like a cockerel. :)
