I'm heartbroken if it is... I heard crowing this morning and my girls are 15-16 weeks. I have a mixed flock so I have nothing to compare to. I've raised chickens before and even had a Buff Orpington. I can't tell the difference! This is crazy! We are super attached and if this is a male, he is absolutely the sweetest one in the world. Please help!

Those wattles are pretty impressive. And the hackle feathers are pointy, but I know buff orpingtons can have pointier hackle feathers even if they are pullets. Do you have any photos of the tail, and the overall body shape? Do you know it was this one that crowed?

She was the one that crowed. Several terrible attempts...It's super difficult to take a photo of moving creatures...

Everything about this chicken says rooster. I have one about be 12 weeks old I kept telling the lady I got him from. She said hen. So he crowed the other day.
