So, kind of a strange question. I recently acquired a rare breed of snake that only eats eggs and is a baby so he can only safely eat teeny tiny eggs. Smaller than the ones my button quail lays unfortunately. I have been searching high and low for unwanted finch or parakeet eggs to no avail and Im so afraid this poor snake is going to die on me. If you have or know of a breeder that has access to eggs please send me a message. I will pay for them and shipping. I just have to get him big enough for button quail eggs and he will be out of the woods. Thank you.

Im currently tube feeding eggs using a small eyedropper. This process is risky because the snake could asparate the contense and it puts a lot of unnecessary stress on the animal. Its not ideal. When I got the snake, the seller told me it would eat egg out of a cup which was a selling point for me because I always have eggs. Come to find out he lied to me about it to make the sale. Lesson learned...

How would you feel about getting yourself a couple pairs of zebra finches? Those things breed at the drop of a hat, and you could take the eggs for your snake. I also second contacting local pet stores that sell finches because they probably have pairs laying eggs that they don't want.

I live in western new york near rochester. I've called most of the local pet stores and only one may be able to help me. They took my phone number and I'm waiting to hear back. I've also contacted several finch breeders who were either unwilling or unable to help me.

Im not in a position to get any more birds right now. A breeder already suggested I get a pair.

Dasypeltis scabra (Common egg-eater, Rhombic egg-eater)

How does the breeder who sold it to you feed their babies? They must have a source for eggs, perhaps they can tell you what it is? Otherwise you're gonna just need to bite the bullet and get your own pair or two. Not like you'd have to keep them forever, once your snake is onto bigger eggs you could rehome them.
