Will you track which duckling hatches out of which egg somehow, so you can name the #1 duckling Uno or Optimus Prime or something, and give it extra peas at treat time?
I most certainly will! I will probably just move a chair over by the incubator with a book and live there for a few days during hatch-window-timeframe... jk(sorta)

I candled today and found that egg #4 with the totally detached air cell IS ALIVE. I just couldn't see it before because of the air cell... when I tilted it slightly, there was a beautiful beating heart and healthy vein map... I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. Pic doesn't show the veining as well at all...

See how the little embryo goes into hiding?? Now I have to figure out how to keep this baby viable and hatch successfully... I think I will need to keep it upright in a carton piece perhaps.

You have eggs in lockdown today?? What kind/how many??

Look familiar? :D

They're "longshots" from stealth nests, mostly. If they hatch, great - if not, I wouldn't have sold them as hatching or table eggs anyway.
Ooooh how exciting!!! Please let me know what comes of these stealth eggs! (Read: please give pics of any babies that hatch because I just have to see some baby ducklings asap LOL) :lau best of luck for your lockdown!

Also... bonus points for any pics of your flock you wanna share!

They are all so beautiful! ...including the spa doggy hahaha
Thankies! A friend said I must have a thing for beige colored animals. (Arizona: Fifty Shades of Beige.) Tuzlu is a Kangal Shepherd puppy, and I expect her to be a wonderful LGD. The pic is a milestone of sorts, where the ducks started giving her a respectful distance instead of noping in terror across the yard like when I first brought her home.

The first pic is of *your* eggs' producers, at about 8 weeks, in their eventual full-time pond. (That project is on hold because the kiddie pool seems adequate for now.) Third and fourth pics are recent, and I like the mama ducks looking at their offspring, like human parents at a hospital nursery.

Fifth pic is Rainbow, my intersex spokesduck. Along with Sunny, who is also out of breed standard tolerance with the dreaded yellow bill, they are culled from my breeding program but not going to Freezer Camp. They'll come with me to the farmers market once I have the Cargo Space Tetris game mastered on my vehicle.

And finally.... yeah, stealth nest in active use.
