It's littering. I don't care what you call it.

a subject close to my heart as I hate litter bugs with a vengence! .... take your trash home and use your own bin and not the sidewalk, country lane.....etc etc .

getting off soapbox.

I hate littering! I ought to fine my hubby for littering his stuff in the backyard! When he takes things apart like his recently bought motorcycle, stripping some of the parts, tapes and wires and lights everywhere and he leaves them lying around!

One day i got fed up with it, took a garbage bag with all the stuff in it, and dumped it in his Jeep, contents all over the inside seats and I never saw him make a mess of the yard again. Now it started up, you ladies got any ideas to stop this litterbug from doing it again? He got rid of his Jeep so how would I do his motorcycle??????

I've been after my DD for littering her candy wrappers and snack stuff.

I hated litterbugs but Walmart is the worst offender of all, imagine all that plastic bags flying around in the countryside!

The one that irks me is butts in my yard. I kept a butt can full of sand when I smoked and no one EVER dreamed of putting a butt out on my yard and leaving it. We quit smoking, and removed the butt can. BIL now just drops butts and leaves them....and no I;m not putting a butt can out again becuase I dont wanna smell it if I cant enjoy the nicotine anymore! We are really rural so no one drives by tossing trash out or anything. We are ok with tossing an apple core in the ditch cause theres always a coon out for goodies like that. But really, I dont like walking around my coop or flower beds and seeing butts laying around!

What the heck is wrong with people? I truly don't understand what makes someone think that it's ok to litter. We were out on a bike ride at a local county park yesterday and were along some back trails that went down to a little creek. It was a place where you had to do a few miles of walking to get to it. There was trash, including a used diaper, just dumped at the end of the trail. Who goes on a walk like that and then just dumps their trash? I really just don't understand the mentality it takes to do things like that.

Sorry Rillion I dont see a problem TAKING a baby to any hiking trail but its the parents that drops dirty diapers ARE a problem.

Same thing for folks who had to leave their "deposits" on the highway in a bowl or container!

Oh, I'm not saying it's wrong to take a baby to such a place.....it just doesn't seem very practical, hiking paths being tricky for strollers and all. The rougher and more remote the climate, the harder it would seem to be to bring along the massive amount of supplies babies need when going out. Maybe that's what turned out to be the problem for the nefarious diaper abandoners.....

I agree!

Please no offense meant .

But I find here where I live now, compared to where I moved from.
Is Lax on teaching the children to Reduce Reuse and Recycle. (I'll add not littering as well.)

I feel it needs to start not only in the home, but be enforced in the schools as well.

The laws about littering need to be enforced as well. We have beautiful signs informing us about the fines. But the fines need to be issued!

Just my thoughts.

They say that there are certain things you can look for in a man to know right off the bat if he's worth being with or not....two of them being how he treats the wait staff in restaurants, and how he speaks to his mother. I would add not being a litterbug to the list.

Littering shows a basic lack of respect for your environment and everybody who shares it with you. I wouldn't want to spend time with someone who tosses little bits of "F You" around everywhere he goes.

My pet peeve are nicely filled baby diapers disposed of in a public parking lot. I find them when I step out of my car. And you thought doggie poop in the yard was bad....
