Were you eggs Ok from the outage?  Was it just a flicker?

Sadly, its been out for 24 hours now and they got pretty cold. It was minus 10*F last night and I couldn't keep them warm enough. I opened one and it appears to have died a peaceful death. Was developing very well though. And the veins were all intact!

Power is still out and not expected back on for another 18-24 hours. We did get a generator a couple hours ago so I plugged it back in for that last ditch effort, but I feel certain its too late.... Sad day.

So sorry to hear that, its heartbreaking when that happens. I recently lost a batch of guinea fowl to power outages. How far along are your eggs? Might it pay to keep them going for a little bit longer and see if any have made it through, but boy that sure is cold!

Day 14. I candled yesterday morning and they were doing so well! I have a wood burning stove in my living room, and the bator is only about 30 feet from it. I covered it with blankets and towels warmed by the fire for a few hours. But it did get down to about 65 in the house and in the incubator. Will candle tomorrow, just to be certain... I guess I'm just hoping they hibernated or something... So hard to give up.

Omg I am in shock. I just candled one egg and it is moving! I'm going to give them some more time, then candle more some others. Wow, I am beyond amazed. Now the question may be...how much damage was done if not death? They weren't turned or anything for almost 24 hours.

Candled all the little guys this morning and surprisingly they all appear ok! One is a bit iffy, not alot of movement, but some. So I have hope!

My power has been restored. Almost 48 hours out. Eggs still seem to be doing fine!

One thing I can now tell from experience, these plastic bators do Not hold in the heat very long without power. I even have my base wrapped in some HVAC insulation wrap, and covered it with blankets and it still didn't hold very well.
