I combed our TJ stores for fertile eggs... They don't sell them here! Can't wait to see the chicks!

If they're clear they can stay in however long you desire provided there's no dark spots or murkiness. Usually at Day 14 you know for sure. Those clears just have a certain "glow" about them compared to live eggs. I've had a few that I pulled at Day 17 that I didn't know for sure (thick colored shells) and, yep, clear. No harm, no foul...or fowl.
Remember to pull the ones that smell or that weep. Those are your potential bacteria bombs.
thanks for the info! Yes there will be plenty of resting and drinking tons of water the next few days.I keep them all til day 14...questionables go on day 18. Unless there is an egg threat! Some are just so hard to see!
I am so happy you saw life!!! Now you can try and relax and recover from your surgery!!!
I ordered a dozen eggs, seven made it through candling day and today is hatch day!! So far we have three out and 4 pips I'm as excited as I was the first time I hatched my first chicks!!
Beautiful!!! I can't wait to see the pics! You are a lucky lady! How do you like serama's? I see a lot of people hatching them in the hatch a long!![]()
I'm officially locked down! Now, I just have to wait for the day after tomorrow
I think I've lost one of my Silkie eggs, but I'm not sure, so I left it. Its completely dark inside like it should be, but there weren't any veins near the air cell. Everyone else looked good though. 10 shipped EE eggs and 5 (one being questionable) Silkie eggs due to hatch on the 13th. Ugh, the waiting!
Oh, and my saddle shaped air cells have fixed themselves, is that normal? The last time I candled, the were pretty wonky. Last night when I checked them, they were all perfectly round...
