July 2022 Hatch-A-Long

Ugh I am guessing my broody broke 3 days before hatch day.... Now I am going to have to set up my coop brooder again. She got off the nest at 530 this morning and hasn't been back. Last time she sat for 4-4.5 weeks since I had to order eggs and wait for them to come... This time I was planning to use the incubator so they were already ordered and I may have gotten them before she went broody so under 3 weeks. I tried to break her at first with no luck so just planned to give her the chicks to raise.....
Did you try giving her a live egg? I'd still try to give her the babies if it was me, but that can be pretty scary.

Still nothing going on in the bator. Been trying not to check it too often, although total disclosure- I took a nap in the spare room today with my eggs lol. Still waiting for a sign of life. I hope I see something before bed tonight. I hate this part...the waiting is awful.
Tell me! After the one egg hatched early yesterday morning....nothing. They are due to hatch today, but so far only one is showing the slightest signs of pipping. I think the one that hatched yesterday might have been the egg closest to the egg turner motor where the temp stayed slightly warmer than the rest of the incubator. Hopefully you and I both wake up to our incubators full of fluffy butts by morning. :fl

@FreedomFarm13 and @Gammas Bearded Babies My 3 year old has been on a naughty egg streak too! She’s super obsessed with checking for fresh eggs and just learned how to climb over the baby gates 😒 Now I have to lock her in the house while I do certain chicken chores because she is incredibly “helpful.” The other day she snuck out for the first time and I hear “I got some eggs!!!” coming from my sewing room…. (The sliding door to the back yard is there). Her little arms are full of the only eggs that should be out still. The broody’s eggs 😭 Luckily all intact and we went back out to replace them, but many my heart was racing!
