Okay. If I open the bator, will it hurt the others?
It shouldn't if you're quick about it. Just to be on the safe side I always have a little fine-mist spray bottle on hand that I fill with very warm/nearly hot tap water and then spritz the inside of the incubator lid and over the eggs if I have to open it. It helps to replace any humidity lost.

Does it work? Kind of a dumb question...

Ut oh! She's trying to help! Poor sweetheart! Hopefully they'll be ok...and she was able to learn a little lesson on the baby eggs vs lets eat em eggs. Lol
She’s a first time broody and I’m not feeling super confident in her skills, so there’s likely no harm done. These poor eggs have been kicked out of the nest randomly, accidentally gathered and left on the counter for a bit, and she’s not being as locked to the nest as my Wyandottes were… But it’s also about 20° hotter! I’d rather she get cooled off than sacrifice herself for the eggs

@OzarkCountryGirl , I followed your advice and the chick is doing better. She wasn't shrink wrapped. Honestly, I think that they just need encouragement sometimes. If they were in a nest, their mother would be clucking at them.

I've been so worried that none of my other 14 eggs (not including guineas) have externally pipped yet, but I just remembered something: I overstuffed my bator, so the eggs on the outside were warm enough to develop, but cooler than they should be. Staggered hatching, ugh. Little W-Dotte was in the very middle of the bunch. :D

:barnieStill no pips! I swear, I'm about to lose it. The one baby is still cheeping, but she hasn't made any progress. Ugh! I wanna see them so bad. My 6 yr old daughter got to hear the cheeping though...she grinned so big and was like, "Awwww!!!" when she heard it. Lol. We just wanna see our babies :hit
ETA: We had to force ourselves to leave them alone for a little while. Me n her have been staring at them all day. So, we grounded ourselves from the spare room for at least an hour, then we'll go check again. I can't keep crouching over the bator like that anyway...it was killing my back, lol.
