July 2022 Hatch-A-Long

HELP guys
I have one chick ( possibly my last hatch) that's very sticky and weak. He has been hatched for a few hours now and not fluffed up at all.
I'm planning on giving him some molasses water and let him rest in the incubator but how can I wash him ? Wait till he is stronger ?
Thank you
Ivy,
Get a toothbrush and brush him with water. It'll take a couple of batches. If he's weak, listen to others more experienced than me. Make sure he's warm.

Well, Anton passed last night. Went comatose. He had the time of his life though. Active and running around a bunch in the afternoon, getting cuddled all morning and night. I checked on him after dinner and he was way worse than this morning. Poor little guy. No more Pavlovskaya.
On another note, he also had a real hard time hatching. He zipped completely around, not 3/4 or 2/3 and still couldn't push himself out, and he was really small. Maybe not developed inside fully.
Also got my first two DIS last night. My last Barbezioux (seems I won't get any of them either) and one Pita Pinta Austuriana. The other Pita is in the bator. I'm going to get her out of there this morning. She's been internally pipped for many days, but never externally pipped. I'm amazed she's still alive. Wish me luck.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Poor baby. He's lucky he got the best love he could have while he was with you. ❤️

And so sorry about your other two as well.

I haven't had to assist yet. I'm sure it's scary but at least you know you're doing your best. I so hope she makes it out ok.

It can be scary, but it's not that bad. Thank you.

So I've just finished candling and weighing for day 14. All 18 remaining eggs are alive and moving but there is such an enormous difference between them. I know some of you were saying not to worry as much about the weight loss but this difference is quite extreme. What do you think? I mean, there's nothing I can do about it is there? Is there hope for them to do ok? I'll post up some photos of the air cells as well.

Thank you so much for your reply
I fed her some molasses water last night and left her in the incubator.
Checked on her this morning, she fluffed up a little bit on spots. So I took her out and gave her a little bath with warm water . Pat dried and back to the Bator she goes lol.
I'm off to work now. I'll check on her again tonight when I get home

Well, she did it! My scary baby that was stuck in her shell finally made it out. I'm so happy she made it...looks like she's gonna be a pretty dark blue 💙 I'm leaving her and the last hatch before her in the incubator til morning so she can get all fluffed up and get her strength up, but I think she's ok. Her foot looks a little wonky(it was sticking out of the shell for a long time- may have lost some circulation because of this?)but she seems to be getting around pretty well. I'm so glad she made it! That makes 14 hatched out of the 16 that went into lockdown! More than I thought I'd get.
Here's a pic of the new baby, she was exhausted and needed a break after all that hard work, lol:

Wonderful news! I’m so glad she made it. She’ll be a great addition to your flock. Blue has always been one of my favorite chicken colors. 😍
