Peacocks!!! OMG!!! :love Pics please???

I have 4 eggs from different parents, she had some gorgeous peacocks but I don't know what color these will be! She had blue, blue pied, white, and purple! This is one of the Dads though. :love

So gorgeous!!! Different colored eggs, from white to tinted, huh? Are they huge?

I was surprised to see how much the eggs vary in color as well! They're not small, the largest egg I've incubated other than the geese. Close in size to turkey eggs but much rounder. This is them next to turkey eggs. Fortunately, they also get the same starter crumbles as turkeys so I may keep them in the same brooder together for a bit and see how the chicks do with the quail. :)

Wow! That's incredible! I'll probably stop at geese as far as the largest eggs I'll ever hatch...unless of course, someone hands me an emu or ostrich egg. :lau I won't say no. lol

Well if they're still chirping that's a good sign! I hope the other chicks start hatching soon! :fl

This link is even more in depth on assisted hatches but is more aimed at chicks so I shared the other one. It does have a lot of graphic images in the beginning to warn people about stepping in to soon but has really in depth explanations.

I used the pictures to go by and the things I've read other places, he was shrink wrapped, the membrane had come away from the shell and was hard, I got him out of the shell, oiled him and let him sit for a while in the incubator, slowly then started taking the hard parts of the membrane off. right now, he's oiled up again and back in the incubator, the other one is still in the incubator and I put some oil on the parts of the membrane that I can see. The other one has managed to get some more shell off, but not bust through the membrane like I think he should be, so everyone is going to rest for a while including me, and we'll see where we are, I know that the one still in the shell is breathing as he's chirping.

:fl Good luck!!

@EliseTheFarmKid do you have your chicks together or in separate brooders? I'm just curious, I have a couple brooders I can set up but I did end up sneaking a few quail eggs into my Incubator too, lol, I now have chicks, turkeys, peacocks, and quail incubating. :lau
Chicks of different ages (or if I just have too many, which is often the case) go in separate brooders. I will put ducklings with chicks but only if the chicks are the same age as the ducklings or older, as I’ve noticed muscovies tend to play a little rough with the newly hatched chicks. Quail go into a separate brooder.
Good luck with your various eggs!
