How should I spell his name?

He looks a lot like my Luc. He's a rescue from TX. I did the DNA test and he's mostly Pitbull and Boxer. I adopted him back in May when he was about 3 months. Using those weight charts, he was predicted to be 80-100 lbs but DNA test said 50 lbs. At 9 months he's about 55 lbs. I don't think he'll get much bigger, if he does at all.

As far as training, I kept him on a long line for the first few months. He got lots of exposure but wasn't given full freedom. He's naturally submissive so he listens well (when he's not lost completely in puppy brain). He has a high play drive but thankfully not a high prey drive. He learns quickly but still chases the chickens and ducks if he's in a very excited mood. Though I've noticed it's changed a bit into herding. I think because I taught him to herd my goats into the stall. He also helps herd the ducks into the coop at night. He'll stop chasing if commanded. He isn't let outside on his own when the birds are out but he is off leash now.

Here's Luc as a puppy right after adoption.

And a couple more recent ones. (Trying on his new hoodie for the upcoming winter weather.)

How are you training him? I bet he's smart especially since you're already seeing some results with him at this age. He has the sweetest face.
Oh he will do anything for a candy cane 🤣

Probably not the best training treat but the candy canes plus submitting him when he jumps and bites my leg seems to be working. He already learned sit, it only took two training sessions. He will now sit whenever I pull out something that he wants, he used to jump and lose his marbles for candy canes, but now he politely sits and gives me big puppy eyes.

He is ADORABLE OMG!!! 😍:love

That said though, I wouldn’t put much stock into those chart things hahah I did that one too and a bunch of calculators as well as the one that said to double their weight at a certain age or whatever and they varied sooo much first of all but they also said he’s be at least 70-80 lbs possibly even 90 or well over 100. He’s now 10 almost 11 months and he’s only 57 lbs and still pretty short and I don’t think he will get much bigger at all. His Embark test predicted his adult weight at 62 lbs which I think is gonna end up being accurate. Honestly I think these things WAY overestimate and/or base it on morbidly obese dogs 😂 so I wouldn’t be too too concerned honestly. I doubt he’ll even be anywhere near 100. But he probably will be over 50. Maybe 60-65? He does look like he could be part American Bulldog though which do get bigger than pits but I still don’t think he will be very big.
I really want to do the embark test, but I already have four other dogs and five cats and...well...I won't list all the other farm animals 😂

What breed is your dog?

Ooh they do look alike! I'm hoping he gets a big boxy head and jowls, somethin scary so that people don't want to come into my yard.

I probably won't even fix him:oops:
I know lots of people will probably hate me for that one. But I don't want him to breed, I just want him to grow properly, and intact Males are also more confident.
