Kill a hawk! Win a $10,000+ fine!

Looks to me like someone "called-a-bluff" but found it wasn't a bluff........so they just "folded" without throwing anything into the "pot".

Is THAT "fair"?

Nope, sorry. Didn't call a bluff and have not folded. It's apparent you haven't read what I've read, or if you have, you don't agree with it. I think I stated that when I said I'm opting out of more arguing about it. You've made it clear what you believe, go for it! Put all the pesticides down and kill all the hawks you want. You're obviously right and no one will prove you wrong, least of all me.

Peace out!

I suppose that IS part of the point.

Apparently we have "no way of knowing" WHAT it is that you've read. It's just not likely that I would agree with something which I have NO IDEA or information as to "what it is". No argument involved. But, apparently, no information forthcoming either.

Are you a Congressman? or Senator? They also ask us to believe what they say without providing information other than "platitudes".

I agree that it is obvious that there is no further point in discussing the matter.

After all the hawks are done plucking the free rangers, do you think they would taste like chicken?

I think I have a recipe for that next to my squirrel gravy recipe.

Someone needs to invent a solar charged motorized bobblehead decoy owl. Or better yet, a bobblehead owl on a track that shifts a few inches left and right randomly every minute or so. That would be sweet and would probably scare the crud out of most hawks! Maybe better? Bobblehead, shifting left / right, and wings that open up a little every couple minutes.

That would be a hoot!

We lose hens to red tail hawks when the hens are out from under the netting. We have the fake owls scattered around our backyard and CD's glued to parts of the roof & hanging in our 2 trees. We live in a busy neighborhood, with a major highway and large retail area nearby; woods behind our home. The only thing we have found to work is to stretch the bird netting over most of our backyard. We hate the hawks and know we cannot eliminate them so we do our best to protect our little flock. When you go into our backyard you have to bend over to walk! We made 8 foot tall makeshift poles to hold up the netting in the middle but it is still an effort to use the backyard now. But we LOVE our birds! Who needs a back yard for humans anyway? When we entertain or cookout, its always in the front yard now. Birds really change your life.

You're simply just choosing which 'evidence' you care to support. I'd suggest if you feel so strongly about it to feed it to your family. It's harmless, right?

I needed that laugh.

Did you not read ANY of my post in response to (justified) requests for actual evidence? The experiment that supposedly proved DDT was harmful to birds was dishonestly reported. In other words, I cited the DDT-ban crowd's evidence, just honestly. Numerous other experiments have since shown that it is only harmful in ridiculously high doses which would never stand a chance of appearing under field conditions.

As far as eating DDT goes, I am not aware of any place to obtain the substance, but if I did happen to have some on hand, I would happily consume a spoonful, then proceed to not die.

Care to provide any "support" for your position that does not in reality undermine it?
