Thanks everyone for bearing with me this year, it’s been a bit of a wild one for sure... I really don’t know where to start in catching up on everyone, but I’m glad to finally get enough down time to get back on!
Some other little fun moments that were missed include the Free Range Chickens disconnecting my solar power one day (ok it wasn’t a great connection to start with but the pecking the wires didn’t help it any) and I now have the “joys of nest hunting”. It is amazing how well they can hide their eggs. I think a couple more layer tractors are in my near future.

I swear, Chickens love electricity... Sammy was constantly getting into my battery compartment and enticing the ladies in... because deep cycle batteries apparently make the perfect nesting location. So the free range girls trying to eat my wiring shouldn’t really have been such a surprise, but they did it while I was away. Imagine our surprise when we set down after a full day of summer sun to watch a show and our inverter did the low battery beep for the first time since last winter! Crazy power hungry birds...
Ok, so the fog didn’t clear up until late afternoon, so apologies for the awful lighting, and not much has changed on the outside....
But inside... we have some ceilings taking shape from the front door
to my mother’s bathroom
and our Kitchen/dining/living room
For our second story we now have a floor!
and some nice views from our SE bedroom window
And our southern bedroom window
So this is what I’ve been so engrossed in this year... Also today, I installed our new water pump in the trailer, in about 45 minutes, and like just magic, the annoyance of having no running water for the last 6+ months is solved. Ok, truthfully, there was a lot of “adult language”, one moment of water spraying out everywhere under my fridge (this is when BIL, the actualPLUMBER, decided to take his leave, after providing some thread tape and accepting a beer as payment) and much frustration because I don’t “do” plumbing, but I got it done, the water heater is back on, and I have running hot and cold water again! Well, I still have to collect it and pour it into the trailer, but still, it works!
