With a leghorn hen... she flys up and sits on my shoulder or head... I’m trying to train her to land on my arm instead. A little less disturbing than having her fly straight for my face!

Yikes! Straight at my face! It would be hard not to panic and do something that would becrmbarasing on film.

Well seeing as you mentioned it... 1) I don’t selfie. 2) the sun was at a horrible angle blinding me. 3) she accidentally dug her claw in to the back of my neck just as I was clicking. This time she attacked from behind, but she’s very flappy and noisy as she launches towards her target (me, usually)

Probably the 3rd worst picture of me on the internet now... I avoid pictures whenever possible usually. This is right up there with a Facebook tag of me from a work team build pulling weeds in pj like pants at 7 am and getting a face full of dirt in the process. Now that was truly great timing... I have to admit she looks great here though.

It is amazing what we will share. Lol

She looks great. What a pretty bird. That leghorn DNA makes the think they real birds and can fly anywhere they want. This made my morning. Thanks for being willing to share.

I don't let any bird fly up onto me...bad habit, IMO.

She lays a vibrant blue, she’s 10 days older than her sisters, so she was my first blue egg. One of her sisters lays a very pale blue, almost white, and the other is vibrant blue.

I totally agree, perching on the human is not a good habit at all, she pooped in my hair once! A nasty cecal poop! It also puts her way too close to my face for comfort. I’m hoping to retrain her into landing on my arm, and only when invited... we are making progress on that (I’ve successfully trained one of my cockerels who had the same ideas).

This started late January as the boys got overly frisky. It only happens now when I check the eggs or remove feed or other chickens from the roosting box for moving time... I really have to modify the side door so I can steal eggs without having to go in the run and stick my head and arm in through the chicken door! They are in my first Tractor, so they moved in before I got all of the design figured out. I had the concept in my head, but how to turn what I had into a functional door was a problem for later, because they weren’t laying yet... it seems I’m always playing catch up now that we are on the farm. I just need 6 more hours of light everyday... and less torrential downpours!
