Well, the invention lasted about one day... I think she stretched it out yesterday or something, but today I was out from noon until 10 pm, with a brief feeding and check at 6:30, as I forgot my lactaid pills and were were having pizza and movie night with the kidlet. The ring slipped and the prolapse was out again at 6:30. I put it back in, but things aren’t looking too bright for her ATM.

I picked up two dozen more eggs for the incubator from Wayne. We talked about pest control and I got to meet his chickens. He has a Barnvelder Rooster, not as chunky as my boys, but very good with the hens. Several Speckled Sussex and BarnvelderXAmeraucana hens that produce beautiful green eggs. We are hatching out some of them backcrossed to their Barnvelder father.

Incubators are cleaned and heated, running and holding temps fine. Eggs are settling and going in tomorrow morning. I’m setting 5 dozen eggs, considering popping in another Dozen from the store from my Barnvelder boy over some hy-line and ISA’s at the other farm, just to fill them out fully. Go big or go home? Even if they were refrigerated? Every egg is an opportunity?

Thanks! Welcome to my sanity-deprived digressions and updates. I’ve got a good bit more than just my meat project running. My rescues actually take up most of my time TBH. But they deserve better!

Good luck with that! Have you gotten thing's worked out with that insurance thing up there yet?

Dozen from the store...are they marked fertile?
Had broody hatch an egg that was about 15 days old and had been in the fridge for 3-4 days...was from my flock tho, just to be clear, a special cross from one bird.

Not really... they are going to be a little flexible because it’s a flock for breeding, and they count the sheep the same way. So I should keep it around 150, but it can go up and down some throughout the year.
Did the hemorrhoid cream seem to make any difference Kris?
It’s on Andrew’s list again for today... It’s small item and the pharmacy is at the front of the Walmart he went to, he was going to get it just before checkout and remembered it in the way in, (because it’s a small box and will slide out the cart wires) but forgot as he was shopping.

Not marked fertile, but from the farmer that took my Barnvelder Rooster... I just wanted to skip the washing and refrigerated step, so I got a dozen from him directly... six dozen might be a bit much though.
