Kristen’s Chickens and Farming Ventures

Love the colour of that egg :love

Cement at last! Hooray!!! :celebrate:celebrate:celebrate

Quick! Get the rest of it built before FIL comes back from holidays and throws a spanner in the works! ( I know you can't, it's just wishful thinking on my part :p)

I’m going to try! My new excuse for not spending enough time here with my chicken friends is probably involving shovels, gravel, and sledgehammers for the near future at least...

Oh, I think they are!! :D

And I’ve never been happier to have to sit and watch concrete dry! Just wait til the forms come off and reveal the true, grey, beauty of the foundation ;) Luckily most of the people here are a little odd themselves, so when I needed to take pictures for “all my chicken friends the the States and Australia” who’ve been such a blessing during this “adventure” in farming and this lifestyle change, they were quite understanding of it.

Cheering you on!:clap I'd offer to help but....:lau

That’s almost what Andrew said as well... He’s working Monday through Thursday full time, half here and half at the other Abbatoir. I’ve enlisted the guy who I was incubating with to help with the work. With him at the young age of 63, and me with my shoulder and back issues, this bodes for an “interesting” phase in the construction process.

Speaking of which... My 10 newest chicks have been relocated to the hospital tractor here. I’ve pulled it alongside the king pin of the 5th wheel, right next to the batteries. They seem to be settling in well, but are completely unused to handling or my voice, which is somewhat vexing. I’m sure I’ll get them tamed down eventually. Meal worms usually help ;)
