My thoughts as well.
I think I will try to drain some fluid and see what I get. Her abdomen is pretty large and uncomfortable now, so draining it will be helpful.
My understanding is that if I don’t get any fluid when I try, it’s not ascites and maybe be a reproductive infection.
Update: Lacey isn’t showing any improvement at the moment, if anything she’s doing worse. If she’s been eating at all it’s not very much. She’s losing weight with a very pronounced keel. Im going to attempt to drain her tomorrow and see what we get, and we’ll go from there. Not entirely sure what else to do for her here if anything. Any suggestions beyond what I’m already doing are appreciated.
At this point, I'm not sure what else you can try. If she's miserable and her abdomen is filled with fluid, then draining may make her more comfortable for a short period of time.
If that's what you decide to do, let us know what you draw out.
Update: just came home with all the supplies to drain Lacey, and unfortunately she passed in her favorite sunbathing spot sometime this afternoon. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me with her recently and all her issues in the past. You all are literal live savers, and she wouldn’t have made it this long without you. Tough day.
RIP Lacey, you are so loved, forever and always.
