Leghorn? Cockerel or pullet?

New to chicken life and need assistance please. Not sure if I should be preparing these two for dinner or a long happy life. Hubby was given hatching eggs and no other information from someone who was given the eggs and decided they didn't want the commitment of incubating. These chickens are a few days shy of 10 weeks. (see labeled pics) #2 had a darker pink comb than #1 after week 4. #1 had (still is) smaller comb and more yellow/pale pink weeks 4-9 and darkened to red in the last week. #2 had started crowing this week so I'm betting on cockerel. I feel like they both are but before I make chicken and dumplings I'd like input from those with more experience than me.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated

They look like Leghorn mixes, did you get them at a farm store? If you did they're probably AustraWhites, and @ 10 weeks they both look like cockerels to me.

No they came by way of a friend of a friend. Funny you say Austra White bc I ran across that lastnight in my research.

Not an austra white, Wrong leg color, Looks like an Exchequer leghorn to me.. Both are cockerels..

The one marked #2 appears to have red earlobes which rules out Leghorn.

Both are pretty and handsome little men!
I’m pretty sure they’re both leghorns, even if the coloring is a teeny bit off.
